Since Christmas. two of our 5th year students, Blessing D and David C have been delivering the LIFT Programme to a small team of future leaders in second year via TEAMS. LIFT stands for Leading Ireland's Future Together, you can find more about this national programme HERE. The second years are those who already show their leadership skills on a regular basis as volunteers in our school library, helping their peers and keeping their school librarian organised. Ms Russell of our Guidance team has facilitated the training in partnership with LIFT for our school and over a period of 8 weeks, we cover themes that include RESILIENCE, RESPECT, LISTENING and POSITIVE ATTITUDE amongst others. Our student trainers take their younger peers through the materials each week. They model how they reflect on their each leadership attribute themselves, and then invite all of us to think about how they can develop these attributes in their own lives. This week we received our first official recognition that we are a LIFT school where Leadership is actively fostered and developed. Here is what LIFT had to say about the students of Beaufort College. We look forward to our continued learning and of hopefully celebrating our students achievements when we can be together again.
And here is the BADGE of honour that our students were awarded and now carry forward.
